PGW's Customer
Responsibility Program (CRP) is a customer assistance program
that can help low-income customers better afford their PGW
bills and maintain their gas service. CRP may provide discounted
bills for eligible customers. CRP customers pay a budget
amount based on their gross household income.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) approved
two changes to PGW's Customer Responsibility Program (CRP).
These changes affect both the monthly co-pay amount towards
pre-program arrears and the minimum monthly CRP charge.
The following changes are effective as of January 21, 2008:
1. The monthly arrears co-pay amount will increase from
$3 to $5; and
2. The minimum monthly CRP amount will increase from $18
to $25.
Program Eligibility
- Residential customers.
- Must be 150% of the poverty level or below.

Minimum Payment
The minimum payment is $25 (plus $5 co-pay, if applicable).
Additional Charges
$5 co-pay towards pre-program arrears, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Pay CRP bills on time and in full.
- Apply for and assign LIHEAP to PGW, if applicable.
- Allow AMR device to be installed.
- Accept conservation, weatherization, education if offered
free of charge.
Arrearage Forgiveness
- 1/36 forgiveness of pre-program arrears each month,
if applicable, provided payment is current.

CRP & Senior Citizens Discount
- Senior Citizen Discount is suspended while the CRP agreement
is in effect. Reinstatement of Senior Citizen Discount
occurs upon exit of program.
