LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
 

The LIHEAP Program is closed for the 2007-2008 heating season.

The LIHEAP Cash Grant is a federal grant to help customers with their home heating bills.

If you received a LIHEAP grant last year, look for an application in the mail. Please complete as soon as possible and be sure to list PGW as your energy provider.

Eligibility Guidelines:
1. Total household income must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level.
2. Applicants who have no income must show how basic living needs are being met.
3. Homeowners and renters are both eligible.
4. Subsidized housing renters are eligible only if they pay for heat.

Documentation Required:
1. Entire household: proof of social security numbers and income (30-day, 90-day or 12-mo.), unless everyone receives public assistance, SSI or food stamps.
2. Latest heating bill.
3. Proof of address if name and address are not on latest heating bill.
4. If heat is included in rent, copy of lease and a statement indicating type of fuel used for heat -or- letter from landlord stating heat is included & type of fuel. Include landlord's telephone number, if possible.
