Landlord Cooperation Program

The Landlord Cooperation Program (LCP) is offered by PGW to Philadelphia’s residential rental property owners (landlords). LCP has been designed with substantial input from landlords and landlord association groups, such as the Homeowner's Association of Philadelphia and Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors, to assist residential rental property owners in avoiding the placement of gas liens on registered properties, and to help PGW with necessary meter access. Property owners who provide full and complete cooperation and compliance with LCP are not subjected to the placement of liens on registered properties.

Properties that are NOT eligible for the LCP include:

  •  Commercial/industrial properties;
  •  Properties with a single meter supplying service to multiple premises;
  •  Owner occupied properties;
  •  Properties where the landlord is (or is legally required to be) the customer of record.

Commercial Lien Notification Program

Commercial Lien Notification Program (CLNP): Stay Informed

The Commercial Lien Notification Program (CLNP) is offered by PGW to Philadelphia’s Commercial/Industrial rental property owners (landlords). CLNP has been designed to provide property owners with advance notification (30-plus days) of the possible filing of a lien(s) against their registered properties along with a pre-lien notice with the amount of the lien.

If enrolled, landlords must assist PGW in obtaining access to its meters for various purposes.
Properties that are NOT eligible for the CLNP include:

  •  Residential properties;
  •  Owner occupied properties;
  •  Properties occupied by the owner’s business.

Smell Gas? Call (215) 235-1212

Natural Gas smells bad on purpose

That “rotten egg” smell is the smell of natural gas. If you think you smell gas leave the area immediately, and then call PGW at 215-235-1212 from a safe location.

Also if you smell gas:

  • Do not use electrical devices including cell phones which may cause a spark and ignite the gas.
  • Do not use an open flame, matches or lighters.
  • Do not try to locate the source of the gas leak.
  • Do not try to shut off any natural gas valves or gas appliances.
  • Do not start vehicles.
  • Do not re-enter the building or return to the area until a PGW employee or a qualified utility representative says it is safe to do so.
  • Do not put out the flames if natural gas ignites.
