1. Do I have to come into a
PGW office to apply for gas service?
No, you can apply by phone,
in person
or online.
2. How often will I get a gas
bill?
Customers are billed monthly. E-Bill customers will receive
an e-mail notification each month that their PGW gas bill
is ready with a link to our website.
3. What payment options are available?
- pay with a check or money order and mail to: Philadelphia
Gas Works, P.O. Box 11700, Newark, NJ 07101-4700.
- pay at a Customer
Service Center with a check, cash,
VISA, Mastercard or money order.
- pay online
with a bank checking account, VISA, MasterCard, Discover
or debit card.
-- A $2.95 third-party payment processing fee will be
charged for each payment.
-- You can select the Auto Pay
option to enroll in automatic monthly payments where your
payment will be electronically deducted from your bank
account on your bill due date each month -- and IT'S
FREE!*
*Please note that it could take one or two months for
your enrollment to be completed. Customers should continue
to pay their bill until an Auto Pay message is displayed
on the coupon section of the PGW bill statement.

13. Do I need to let PGW read
my meter or have access to the meter?
Yes, the meter is PGW's property. PGW must have access for
purposes of maintenance, operations and meter reading. Failure
to allow access to the meter could result in PGW shutting
off gas service to the property.
