Gas bills are generally issued on a monthly basis, and are based on the amount of gas used as measured through PGW's meter located on your property. Most meters are AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) devices, which transmit information from your meter to a special PGW van equipped to receive and store meter reads electronically as the van travels through your neighborhood.

Bills may also be calculated by estimating the amount of gas you use. Estimates are based on past usage for your property and are adjusted for weather conditions as appropriate. An estimated bill will be clearly marked as such.
