PGW's EnergySense Program
PGW’s EnergySense Program is made up of six initiatives that will help the company’s residential, commercial and industrial customers conserve energy and save money. It will also create new local jobs, reduce the region’s carbon dioxide emissions by 1.24 million tons, which is the equivalent of taking 200,000 cars off Philadelphia’s streets, and support Greenworks' plan to make Philadelphia the greenest city in America.

  Enhanced Low Income Retrofit Program
Launch: January 2011
Participants: High energy users who are enrolled in PGW’s Customer Responsibility Program (CRP)
Enrollment: PGW will select eligible participants
Energy saving equipment: Cost-effective measures identified through an energy audit that could include: air-sealing, attic/wall insulation, compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), and high-efficiency windows and heating equipment repair/replacement
Cost: Free to qualifying customers

  Residential Heating Equipment Rebates
Launch: April 2011
Participants: PGW customers (residential and small business*) who use residential-sized natural gas furnaces and boilers
Enrollment: Customer applications
Energy saving equipment: High efficiency natural gas heating equipment and programmable thermostats
Rebate: • $500 for natural gas furnaces with a 94 percent efficiency rating or greater
• $2,000 for natural gas boilers with a 94 percent efficiency rating or greater
• $30 for a programmable thermostat purchased with boiler or furnace

  Commercial and Industrial Retrofit Incentives
Launch: September 2011
Participants: Commercial and industrial customers making energy efficiency improvements as part of a building retrofit project. Examples of improvements include replacing inefficient heating equipment, installing building controls or making building shell improvements
Enrollment: Customer applications
Energy saving equipment: High-efficiency boilers and furnaces for space and water heating, building controls and shell improvements
Savings: Customized incentives based on proposed project costs and projected gas savings

  Commercial and Industrial Equipment Rebates

  High Efficiency Construction Incentives
Launch: November 2012
Participants: Contractors installing new energy efficient construction, remodeling and renovation related improvements for residential and commercial buildings
Enrollment: Customer applications
Energy saving equipment: High-efficiency boilers and furnaces for space and water
heating, building controls and shell improvements
Rebate: 80 percent of the incremental cost of purchasing the premium-efficiency equipment

  Comprehensive Residential Retrofit Incentives
Launch: March 2013
Participants: High-use residential heating customers
Enrollment: Customer applications
Energy saving equipment: Cost-effective measures identified through an energy audit that could include: air-sealing, attic/wall insulation, and high-efficiency windows and heating equipment repair/replacement
Savings: Financial incentives to buy down projects to a two-year payback period
