With the anticipated rise in natural gas prices, the Philadelphia
Gas Works (PGW) strongly encourages consumers to take steps
to conserve energy this winter.
To prepare customers for the upcoming winter weather, PGW
will conduct several conservation workshops at Home Depot
stores in Philadelphia during October and November. The
workshops will feature demonstrations on ways to conserve
energy and winterize homes, with various conservation items
such as weatherstripping, hot water heater blankets, and
plastic for windows and caulk available for purchase.
A special conservation issue of PGW’s customer newsletter
is being included with the October mailing of bills. Customers
are encouraged to follow the inside tips for conserving
energy. A second reminder issue will be mailed to customers
with their December bills.
PGW will also promote its message of conservation on local
public affairs radio shows and Philadelphia’s free
cable station.
Founded in 1836, PGW is the nation's largest municipally
owned natural gas utility, serving a half million residential,
commercial, and industrial customers, and Philadelphia's
choice for quality energy solutions.
