PGW OFFERS CUSTOMERS NEW ‘PAY YOUR BILL ONLINE’ OPTIONS

(Philadelphia, PA – February 2, 2006) – Tired of unnecessary paperwork? Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) is pleased to announce that customers are now able to view and pay their natural gas bills on the Internet.

To register, customers may visit PGW’s home page at www.pgworks.com and click “Pay Your Bill Online.” After registering, customers may then go to “My Account” to view their bill and select from one of the following payment options:

• “Pay Your Bill” allows customers to use a Visa or MasterCard credit card, bank check, or debit card. There is a third-party payment processing fee of $4 for each bill payment to use this service. This processing fee covers charges by PGW’s third party processor. However, if you sign up for Express Bill and use a bank check to make your payment – IT’S FREE!

• “Express Bill” allows customers to sign up for paperless billing and receive a monthly bill notification by e-mail. Customers who sign up for this option will no longer receive their bill by regular mail.

• “Auto Pay” allows customers to have their PGW bill paid automatically each month from their bank checking account. There is a one-time, third-party payment processing fee of $4 for this service.

Customers will continue to have the option to make credit card and bank check payments over the telephone; however, there is now a third-party payment processing fee of $4 for each bill payment for this service.
