| (Philadelphia,
Pa. – November 15, 2007) – PGW is now making
it even easier for customers to sign up for LIHEAP, the
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
In addition to PGW’s six Customer Service Centers
in Philadelphia, a Community Outreach Vehicle is stationed
at Castor Avenue and Hoffnagle Street, in the Northeast,
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and
is staffed with a PGW representative to assist customers
who want to sign up for a LIHEAP grant.
LIHEAP grants are available to help eligible PGW customers
pay their gas bills. Applicants must provide proof of income
and social security numbers for all members of their household,
along with their most recent heating bill.
To be eligible for the LIHEAP grant, an individual could
have an annual income of up to $15,315. A household with
two members could earn up to $20,535, and a home with three
occupants could have a total income of as much as $25,755.
Income levels for four or more household members may be
determined by adding an additional $5,220 for each additional
occupant.
Another way to apply is to visit our Web site at www.pgworks.com
and print an application in English or Spanish. Once completed,
mail the application, with proof of income and social security
numbers for all household members, to LIHEAP, 1348 West
Sedgley Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19132. Be sure to list
PGW as your energy provider.
Founded in 1836, PGW is the nation’s largest municipally
owned natural gas utility, serving half a million residential,
commercial and industrial customers.
