ONE CALL - Before Digging - It’s The Law
http://www.paonecall.org/
Planning on installing an addition to the existing structure,
retaining wall, pool, landscaping or beginning any kind
of construction that would require digging on your property?
Pennsylvania law states that prior to digging, excavators
MUST call to have underground utility lines marked at the
site.
Digging without marked utility lines is dangerous. If a
utility line is cut, it could cause a complete disruption
in utility facilities such as cable, gas and telephone,
until repairs can be made. Further, it jeopardizes the safety
of those excavating.
Prior to any excavation, you are required by law to contact
PENNSYLVANIA ONE CALL 1-800-242-1776.
The utility companies have three business days to contact
the excavator with regards to their dig location.
One simple call can protect yourself and your property
from unforeseen damage when digging. Let PENNSYLVANIA
ONE CALL help determine the location of PGW and other
utility service lines before you dig by calling
1-800-242-1776 or visit their Web site http://www.paonecall.org/.
