PGW UPGRADES DIGITAL CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

Redesigned www.pgworks.com, Facebook page and Twitter feed unveiled this week 

(Philadelphia, Pa. – August 16, 2013) – As part of its strategy to enhance customer satisfaction and improve communications, Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) has redesigned its website and is joining the conversation on Twitter and Facebook. The new website contains all the same relevant information as its predecessor, but is re-engineered so users can now find everything they need in three clicks or less. At the new pgworks.com customers can more easily access their account functions, find out where we’re undertaking major infrastructure projects and learn about ways to save energy and money.

PHILADELPHIA GAS WORKS NATURAL GAS RATES DECREASING IN JUNE

(Philadelphia, Pa. – May 31, 2013) – The Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) today announced a natural gas rate decrease for residential, commercial, industrial and municipal customers. For the average residential heating customer, the change lowers their PGW bill by 2.6 percent per month, approximately, and equates to savings of $37.64 per year.

PGW ENERGYSENSE INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR EFFICIENT BUILDING GRANTS

(Philadelphia, Pa. – June 6, 2013) – Philadelphia Gas Works newest energy efficiency program is now accepting applications from multi-family residential, commercial and industrial customers seeking to increase the energy efficiency of their properties. Part of its EnergySense portfolio of energy efficiency programs, PGW’s Efficient Building grants can provide up to $75,000 per project for eligible building energy upgrades that conserve natural gas and meet published high efficiency criteria. Interested PGW customers can download the application by visiting www.pgworks.com/RFA.

Smell Gas? Call (215) 235-1212

Natural Gas smells bad on purpose

That “rotten egg” smell is the smell of natural gas. If you think you smell gas leave the area immediately, and then call PGW at 215-235-1212 from a safe location.

Also if you smell gas:

  • Do not use electrical devices including cell phones which may cause a spark and ignite the gas.
  • Do not use an open flame, matches or lighters.
  • Do not try to locate the source of the gas leak.
  • Do not try to shut off any natural gas valves or gas appliances.
  • Do not start vehicles.
  • Do not re-enter the building or return to the area until a PGW employee or a qualified utility representative says it is safe to do so.
  • Do not put out the flames if natural gas ignites.
