In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, PGW is encouraging employees and customers to participate in virtual service projects, where possible, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. To find virtual-only local volunteer opportunities, please visit https://mlkdayofservice.org/.
PGW’s Marketplace Opens with Rebates on Smart Thermostats
Customers can receive a $70 instant rebate on Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, or Emerson thermostats.
PHILADELPHIA (January 14, 2021) – Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) has opened its “Marketplace” where PGW customers can receive instant discounts on smart thermostats that can help them conserve energy, improve home comfort, and control energy costs in time for winter bills.
When visiting the PGW Marketplace, customers may select the Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell or Emerson thermostat of their choice and verify their PGW account, then $70 will be deducted from the sale price. After completing the online order, the thermostat will be shipped to customers. Smart thermostats can be controlled by a cell phone and include features like motion sensors, alerts and integration with other smart devices.
“Smart thermostats can help our customers save energy and money by automatically performing tasks such as lowering home temperatures at night or when customers are away from home,” said Steven Jerue, Director of Customer Programs at PGW. “At this time when money is tight for many people, PGW hopes customers take advantage of this opportunity to obtain a lowered cost thermostat that will help them reduce their heating bill.”
